Vegan Festival Launches at Darlington Market

Vegan festival trader

The indoor market in Darlington is looking forward to welcoming a new collection of traders on Saturday 19th October, 10am – 4pm, for its first Vegan Festival.

The free one-day event will showcase a diverse collection of traders from across the region who specialise in vegan products. The event will take over the market hall, bringing the space alive and showcasing new and exciting products including vegan cheese, kombucha teas, eco-friendly alternatives and delicious vegan cakes and savoury snacks. Alongside the vegan traders will be free drop-in craft activities with Yvonne Preston, face-painting, acoustic music and entertainment from the market’s newest resident, local community radio station Darlo Radio.

The launch of this new festival has been received with excitement from the vegan community across the region, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the market hall. Vegans, vegetarians and anyone interested in finding out more about this lifestyle choice will be able to come into Darlington to visit, sample, and source new products and ideas.

The festival is hosting a selection of Darlington based businesses including Quaker Gin, Mutiny Zero Waste, newly founded Eco-mily (vegan wraps) and the Green Guerilla to name a few.

Darlington Market is a hub of the local community, and we want to provide
experiences, events and new opportunities to come and enjoy Darlington.

The events calendar is filling up fast for 2020, and we look forward to unveiling all the exciting plans and dates for next year’s diary very soon. The market has recently hosted a number of community events including the Darlington Honey Show and a display from the North-Eastern Meccano who have all expressed an interest in returning next year. If any community group, artist or trader would like to come and showcase their skills, please contact Alex Nicolson at –
