2020 events

Applications to trade for stallholders

Darlington Market has numerous opportunities for traders to come and join its events throughout 2020. We look forward to welcoming new and existing traders to Darlington at both our events and also our weekly markets.

Weekly markets are held every Monday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. To trade you will require all relevant paperwork including Public Liability Insurance (£5million) and for food traders all the relevant hygiene certificates and food safety awards. We only accept 4**** and 5***** hygiene ratings.

Wool Fair
Darlington is hosting its first Wool Fair on 29th February, 2020.
Welcoming a host of high-quality traders and artists to showcase their products. There will be demonstrations to watch from Becky Sunter (The Weaving Rooms) and have-a-go activities using wool.
The fair is aimed at all ages and everyone can come find out more about wool, try new skills and buy products ranging from handspun wools, felted artworks and weaving/knitting spinning equipment.

Famers market

Darlington Farmers Market
Welcoming a host of regional stallholders to Darlington market every month for high-quality produce, handmade by the stallholders themselves. The farmer market aims to offer visitors the opportunity to taste and buy locally created foods and products ranging from freshly baked breads, homemade jams to delicious cupcakes and award-winning cheeses.
The variety and selection of traders each month does vary depending upon trader availability so please visit each month to see who is at the farmers market.
First Sunday of every month: 1st March, 5th April, 7th June, 5th July, 2nd August, 6th September and 4th October
10am – 3pm, FREE ENTRY
Some of our regular traders include:
Teesdale Cheesemakers, Pork on your Fork, The green Guerilla, The Jamporium, Breaking Bread, Weardale Cheese, Creative Spoon, The Rosehip Company and of course The Clucking Pig.

Vegan Market
The market has programmed a selection of vegan market dates throughout 2020 to showcase traders who specialise in vegan food and products from across the North East. Bringing together these specialist producers to offer visitors to Darlington market the opportunity to buy freshly made vegan foods, beauty and hand-selected vegan products from our locally based businesses.
Vegan cheeses from Tynechease, cakes and treats from the Sunflour Bakery and Green Guerilla. Products to help reduce your waste from Mutiny Zero Waste, and delicious streetfood from some of the best North East vegan traders including Parallel 7, Sun of Seitan and There’s no Catch.

Record Fair
In partnership with the Record Shed in Darlington the market hosts a selection of record collectors and traders in the town centre. Come and listen to some records and add to your vinyl collection.
You can buy, sell, trade your records and mostly share your passion about vinyl records, A collection of our region’s finest dealers and collectors come together for our Darlington Record Fairs 2020.

Honey Show
Darlington Beekeepers Association are hosting their 2nd Annual Honey Show here in Darlington Market. Learn all about beekeeping, how honey is made and the importance of bees. There will be information, activity and honey tasting throughout the day.
The Honey Show is also the annual competition for the Darlington Beekeepers, with over 100 entries in 2019 the show attracted a ‘major’ competition level in the beekeeping world.

Pease Pudding market

Award-Winning Pease Pudding Markets
Recognised for its appeal and unique format our Pease Pudding Markets are proud to be the winner of NABMA’s best small speciality market 2020 category.
Throughout the summer the market square is transformed into street food, music and entertainment for the whole family. Join our collection of delicious street food traders from across the region for your evening, whilst enjoying music from our resident DJ (Workhouse Session).
From 4pm – 9pm come along with your friends and family for a summer evening in Darlington town centre.

Award-Winning Food and Drink Festival 
Returning for our 3rd Annual Food and Drink Festival we are looking forward to an exciting programme of activities for all the family at the FREE 3-day festival. Filling the town centre with delicious foods from across the region, street food with tastes from around the World. There will be street entertainment, music and demonstrations programmed and all updates for the event will be added to our facebook page.
